Iperius Backup is also a software to clone hard drives and duplicate an operating system on different machines. In fact, the Iperius drive image allows you to create VHD and VHDX files that are exact copies of the disks, including the logical structure of the partitions. This allows an immediate restore of a system as a Hyper-V virtual machine and the use of Iperius as a software to convert physical machines into virtual machines.

Creation of recovery disk

Iperius allows you to create a recovery disc, an USB drive or an ISO file to burn to CD. Starting a machine with the Iperius recovery unit, you will get the Iperius Recovery Environment®, which will allow you to select a drive image backup created by Iperius and restore it to a new hard disk. Disk image and bare-metal restore

Iperius Backup makes the drive image in the Windows standard format, in the form of VHD or VHDX files. These files can be opened to retrieve individual files, mounted as a common hard drive, or used to restore the full system after a crash. In order to do a system recovery, you simply need to boot using the Windows installation disc, and select, from another disk or from the network, the disk image to be restored.

Incremental Windows Image Backup (block-level)

The drive image (Windows Image Backup) made by Iperius is very fast and is incremental. The program creates an image of the entire system disk (or any other disk) and save it on a local or network destination, in the form of VHD or VHDX files. Subsequent backups after the first image are very fast, because only the changes made after the last backup are copied to the existing image file.

Email notifications, scheduling, detailed reports

The drive image backup can be easily scheduled, so Iperius can automatically make the image at predefined days and times. Iperius Backup allows you to always be aware of the backup result, as it can send an email after each backup operation (always, only if there have been errors, or upon the occurrence of certain events or conditions).

Restore to dissimilar hardware

One of the great features of the drive image backup made by Iperius, is the possibility to restore an operating system on a computer other than the one where the backup was made. This allows us to fully recover a system even if we no longer have the old machine where the system was installed (hardware independent restore).
